Over the last couple of years I've enjoyed learning photography at a more professional level. It's not what I'm doing full time, but I find it a relaxing way to enjoy nature while also indulging my creative impulses. I don't often do urban scenes, but when I'm in New York City I always have camera in hand.
Recently I was contacted by a local law firm that had a big announcement coming out, and they needed to update their website in advance of the publicity. I was asked to photograph several parts of their offices for the website, with the logo being the most tricky. It is on glass and there are many glares, reflections and lights that keep the logo from being legible when photographed. Armed with a large tarp to block out background lights and glare, I went downtown to do the shoot. Here are a few photos I took that are on the front page of the website:

The law firm was preparing to announce that former Nashville Mayor Bill Purcell was joining the firm along with a couple of other prominent lawyers, and they knew it would generate publicity. They wanted their website ready for the traffic. Here's a link to their
website. (If you ever need legal representation, this is an excellent, smaller firm.)
Occasionally I'm also asked to license my images for book covers. Recently Bill Compton, a friend and psychology professor at MTSU, contacted me about my lotus paintings, seeking a fitting image for a book on eastern psychology. He chose "White Lotus." The book will be published this year.
I'm planning on getting back to work on some photo encaustic pieces, moving the work in a direction I began to explore last year and now want to take further. Images coming soon.
